- This is a collection of utility programs for LOADSTAR 128 that will be
- published on every issue. By zipping through these menus you can:
-
- (1) Print out a subscription form
-
- (2) Print out a back issue order form
-
- (3) Print out a submission form for sending us a program for consideration
-
- (4) Critique this issue or just write us a note
-
- (5) Append the data for this issue's programs to the library file for
- LOADSTAR LIBRARY, published on LS 128 #12.
-
- Just select which of these functions you want to perform by moving the
- highlight bar with the CRSR UP and CRSR DOWN key. Press RETURN to select.
- Since the menu items are numbered, you can just press the number if you
- want. All of the modules return to the main menu of LOADSTAR BRIEFS when
- they are done.

-
- The subscription form gives you all the information you need to become a
- regular subscriber to LOADSTAR 128. You may use your favorite plastic in
- lieu of a check. Please tell us if you are a new subscriber or are renewing
- a current subscription.
-
- If you are subscribing from a country outside the United States, the
- payment must be in US funds. Checks or money orders must be drawn on a US
- bank.
-
- The submission form is for sending us your latest program gem. It is
- important that you fill out every blank and sign down at the bottom,
- certifying that the program is your own original work. Your phone number(s)
- and the start-up filename are very important. While you're at it, send as
- much documentation about the program as you can. However, don't print out
- BASIC or ML listings.
-
- The back issue form will let you easily purchase any LOADSTAR 128 back
- issue. After printing, just circle the issue(s) you want, enclose a check,
- money order, or credit card, and pop it in the mail.

- Readers of LOADSTAR for the C-64 are familiar with Jeff Jones' FEEDBACK
- MACHINE. It's a dedicated mini-word processor that makes it easy for
- readers to comment on every feature on an issue -- or comment on anything
- for that matter. Now, thanks to Paul McAleer, LOADSTAR 128 has a similar
- program.
-
- It uses an ML routine written by Scott Resh for LOADSTAR 128 #6 called
- QUICKTEXT.O so it's pretty quick for entering comments and printing. It
- reads a file called "features" -- found on every LOADSTAR 128 -- and prompts
- you for each program on the issue. You have up to six lines of comments you
- can enter for each program. Just remember to press RETURN at the end of
- each line. If you press RETURN on a blank line, you'll go to the next
- program prompt. You can press ESC during typing to quit to BRIEFS.
-
- The program will ask for your name and address first. Please enter this
- so we can respond to any questions you may ask. If you don't ask any
- questions we probably won't answer, but we're always interested in your
- opinions.
-
- At the end of the critique there will be some additional questions about
- the documentation, Q-Link, and your equipment. If you are commenting on a
- problem with a program it will help us attempt a diagnosis if you list your
- equipment.
-
- Let us hear what you have to say.

- On LOADSTAR 128 #12 we presented 128 LIBRARY by Barbara Schulak, a handy
- way to keep track of the LOADSTAR 128's published so far. Every issue from
- now on we will supply you with an update file for you to add to your 128
- LIBRARY program. With the addition of this issue's programs, the list now
- numbers 99 major programs for the your C-128!
-
- Just run this program and have your 128 LIBRARY disk handy. The file on
- LOADSTAR 128 #12 was called "128 loadstars" but you may have edited it for
- your particular needs and saved it under another filename. That's the way
- 128 LIBRARY was designed. After you choose LIBRARY UPDATE, you can see
- quickie instructions, append this issue's data, view the directory, or quit.
- Choose Append to add data, and this issue's data will be read. At the
- filename prompt, insert your data disk and type in the filename. The drive
- will whir and your data file will now contain LS 128 #13.
-
- At that point you can run 128 LIBRARY or go back to BRIEFS, after you've
- inserted a LOADSTAR 128 disk.
-
- Barbara and I are open to suggestions for 128 LIBRARY. Let us know what
- you want in a program database like this, and we'll upgrade it from time to
- time -- hopefully keeping the same file structure so your saved, commented
- file isn't made obsolete.
